Unity 6.1
Optimize Renderer Features with Variable Rate Shading in Unity 6.1 Update releaseSuperseded

What changed
Unity feature: Variable Rate Shading
Variable Rate Shading lets rendering use different shading rates across an image. Selected areas can use fewer pixel-shader evaluations when full detail is unnecessary.
Use it
- Check the device’s Variable Rate Shading capabilities through ShadingRateInfo.
- Use the renderer-feature example to supply a shading-rate image for the regions you want to reduce.
Requirements and limits
- Requires compatible hardware and graphics API support. The API reports per-draw capability, but Unity does not support that mode in this version.
