Unity Asset Manager — May 1, 2025

Official notes

Import, optimize, and convert files

  1. Change

You can now import optimized and converted 3D assets directly into the Unity Editor from Asset Manager. This workflow reduces file size by cleaning meshes, merging polygons, and converting files into formats compatible with the Editor. When available, both source files and optimized outputs are imported.

Pin dependencies to Latest versions

  1. Fix

Use a new upload setting to ensure your assets always use the most up-to-date dependency versions. When enabled, an uploaded asset’s dependencies point to the version labeled Latest. When disabled, the asset points to fixed versions of its dependencies.

Disable the reimport modal

  1. Change

You can now disable the reimport modal by turning on the Avoid rolling back dependencies setting in the User Preferences window. When enabled, the Asset Manager plug-in won’t show the reimport dialog during asset import. This is useful when you want to import assets without being prompted for confirmation.

Pick your Unity version

Unity Releases compares releases against the version your project is on. Picking it now keeps Compare versions focused on what changes between where you are and where you might be going.
